Another glorious morning. Garnished with egg sandwiches and little girl kisses. A brief and dramatic thunderstorm inspires us to thumb our noses at the universe by going for a drive in the rain.
Alone with Gaelynn for most of the day.
We went to Andrews Park for a while before hitting the library. I hung out and watched her play with other children. She’s strange. She is like me in a lot of ways – including how she interacts with people. When she plays with other children she wants to be running the show or playing by herself. But she can also be entirely giving too.
How wonderful it is to awake to the scent of breakfast!
Dustin and I sat out on the front porch and talked, in the living room, in the front yard, on the roof… for most of the morningtime. Dustin wanted to check out the Norman mall and so he and I went. His Volkswagen is a curious little bugger.. We drove around Norman and talked about our lives and destinies, before returning home to say goodbye until next time.
Dustin is here. We’ve been talking a great deal… I’ve been doing a lot of listening and interrogating. All very subtly of course. Sometimes playing devil’s advocate to understand him better.
We had an appointment first thing this morning. Department of Human Services.. etc. Information given, interview conducted, blah-blah-blah.. Very boring, but extremely helpful.
When I woke up this morning at around seven or so, it was 60 degrees outside. I opened up the windows and revelled in it. Candace had to go to Oklahoma City for training, so Gaelynn and I had the house to ourselves. We watched Sesame Street and played.
